The newly reorganized Louisiana Gourd Society was incorporated on October 20, 2010. A steering committee consisting of Kate Bangle, Margaret Brinkhaus, Tom Hornsby and Zelda Hornsby was formed and met in November to formulate plans. It was agreed that solicitation of members would begin with dues set at $12.00 per year.The first business meeting was held at the Acadiana Gourd Festival in Jennings, La. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1pm. Mike's is located near the Festival at 919 N. Lake Arthur Avenue. Members are asked to contact Kate if attending so that an approximate head count can be given to the restaurant.
